Incoming calls briefly pair to car Bluetooth then revert back to phone

we own two iPhone 15s and have two vehicles, a 2019 Mini and a 2019 Ford 150. They hook up to Bluetooth in the vehicles just fine and stay hooked up to the media but when a call comes in they start the call going through the car’s stereo Bluetooth but within seconds revert to the call going to the phone instead of Bluetooth. This happens with both phones and in both vehicles and didn’t happen before so it’s obviously a problem that came up as a result of some update. This has been occurring for about 6 months. It is VERY dangerous and I’d like to get it fixed. Any body else have this problem? Anybody fix it?

Thank you for the photos however they are not helpful. The phones are connected to the vehicle via bluetooth but the calls revert to the phone instead of through the car speaker. I then have to tap the phone multiple times to get the call to stay coming through the vehicle speaker. Having to touch the phone to do this is dangerous and illegal since phones can only be used "hands free" in the state where I drive. I believe it has something to do with what setting has priority over the others.
