Use my old phone as a music player only

I would like to use my old phone as a music player only. I have Apple Music so would like to put that on it. I have reset my iPhone but don’t know how to go from there. It keeps asking me to sign in with my apple id

In order to listen to Apple Music from your account, you must first sign in to that account on the old phone. There is no way around that.
