Gmail for Google app from Apple Store

I have an older miniMac with macOS 10.15 on which the Mail app is working fine. App store doesn't say I need an update. Do I need this Gmail for Google app? Thank you.

There are several Gmail apps on the Mac App Store. I couldn't find any with the name "Gmail for Google" but all of the ones I did find are 3rd party (not Apple apps and not Google apps) and not needed to use Gmail.

You can use Apple's Mail app with Gmail on a Mac. Another option is to use Safari and log into https://mail.google.com/mail/
