I’m looking for a good platform to stream and download movies on my iPhone. The default apps have limited options, and I’d like something with a broader collection. Any recommendations for smooth movie downloads on iOS?

The one that works best on the iPhone is likely to be Apple's own apps. Apple offers lots of movies for purchase.
I also find that both Netflix and Prime Video work well. Netflix is purely a subscription service. Amazon will let you both subscribe for access to older content and buy newer content.
However, what service you prefer is going to depend on what you like to watch. I find a lot I like to watch on free apps like Pluto or Tubi but they are certainly not what everyone wants to watch.
