Can a used Mac Pro 6,1 running Catalina run an older version of Final Cut Pro?

Bought a used Mac Pro 6,1 ... 6 core 32GB 1TB solely for video editing only. I think it has an after market SSD if that matters. I'm finding it difficult to locate and buy a version of Final Cut that will work with this older mac. I have not bought FCPX before but will just to downgrade to earlier version that works. Is that possible? I really love this old trash can and so is there a work around that one of you good folks can walk me through? Thanks

You could get an older version but inly if you had already purchased the application.

You could use a more recent Mac and make a purchase using YOUR Apple id, and then download the older one on your Mac. But you’d miss out on the newer features and performance. Maybe iMovie will do what you need, and it’s free. Or if you need more, some people here swear by DaVinci Resolve, and there’s a free version too. I don’t know if they still offer an older version but it appears to be less demanding in terms of its OS version requirements.

Hi, thanks for reply. I have tried to buy in app store but it says version they sell is not compatible to my system and so won't allow the purchase....And a Mac Pro 6,1 can only upgrade to Monterey I've read, which is still not compatible to the current FCPX. So I heard Catalina may be a way in to loading an older version of FCPX v 10.5.4?...but I haven't been able to find a way to get a compatible older version...App store seems to not offer any older versions either.... I hit a wall here...
