Can an iMac 27" circa late 2009 OS 10.13.6 be upgraded?

To increase my online speed on my old iMac 27" late 2009 with macOX High Sierra, version 10.13.6, my ISP service is requiring an upgrade be installed.

Processor: 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2Duo
Memory: 12 GB 1067 MG+Hz DDR3
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD

Do I have any options?

Yes, you do but I'm not allowed to mention them here.

However, if you Google 'run recent Mac OS on 2009 Mac', you will find a commonly used software solution to this.

macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra) is as far as a Late 2009 iMac can go.
