Urgent: Final Cut Pro Suddenly Running Extremely Slow

Hello,

My Final Cut Pro has suddenly become extremely slow and laggy. I recently updated my macOS to Sequoia Version 15.3.1, and my Final Cut Pro is running on Version 11.0.1. I’m not certain if the update is the root of the problem, but it seems to be the key difference between when everything was running smoothly and now, where even basic actions like cutting clips, moving titles, or enabling and disabling clips have become nearly impossible.

Since I rely on this laptop for work, I urgently need assistance in identifying the issue. This machine has always handled video editing efficiently, so I’d appreciate any insights on what might be causing the slowdown.

I have 215GB of available storage, so that should not be the problem. Here are the troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

  1. Deleted all cached render files and allowed the system to re-render, but there was no improvement.
  2. Created a new Library and transferred files from the previous one, ensuring compatibility with the latest Final Cut version and macOS, but the issue persists.
  3. Restarted and powered down the computer, but there was no difference.

Below is a video demonstrating the issue. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I recall a few weeks ago here an issue like this was diagnosed as a Crowdstrike problem. Do a search here. EDIT: Found it: Spinning wheel while using Final Cut afte… - Apple Community

Your external drives are extremely full.

You have the dreaded Google updater and keystone software listed. Follow https://chromeisbad.com for instructions on how to completely remove all the cruft that Google installs, which runs constantly in the background.
