"Currently Sharing" never goes away
My "currently sharing" icon never goes away. Here are all of the things I have tried that don't work:
- Using "stop sharing" to stop sharing (obvious but worth including). The sharing stops but the icon remains.
- Closing the window I was sharing (usually Chrome or Preview, but no app yields different results). They always have the little screen share icon in the upper lefthand of the window until I close them but nothing else changes.
- Closing the window I was using to share (zoom, facetime, google hangouts)
- Quitting the app I was sharing
- Quitting the app I was using to share
- Adjusting the Settings > General > Sharing settings to turn screen sharing on or off
- Adjusting the Settings > General > Login items to have "Allow in the background" turned off for Zoom
- Holding the command key and dragging the icon out of the top bar (nothing happens)
The only thing that works is fully restarting my computer. This happens every time I share my screen, regardless of the app I use to share or the window/desktop I share. Any advice?
(ps I am on Sonoma 14.6.1, Chrome 133.0.6943.127, and Zoom 6.3.10)
