Synchronizing and importing a playlist created on the iPhone onto my Mac music library

I can't see how to do this. So, I read the thread from a few years ago about this issue. none of those suggestions seem to work, though I haven't tried downloading a 3rd party app as one community member did.

I'm running Sequoia 15.2 on my Mac and iOS 18.1.1 on my iPhone 13. The phone is plugged in and freshly synched.

Using the Apple Music app, the playlists displayed are only those created on the Mac. When I open File commands and select Import, the iPhone is not shown on the possible directories or locations to import from. The same result is obtained from File>Library>Import Playlist.

What I want to do seems simple and logical enough. Why is there no obvious way to do this? What clue am I missing?
