I used to be able to mute a group text I am part of (all iphone EXCEPT for one android user) but after update to 18.3, I cannot mute the thread. Other iphone users in the group are having the same issue. Can someone please help us???

Having same issue! Select mute but doesn’t do so even though it shows group is muted.
Unfortunately, that has not worked. I have called Apple, chatted with Apple, tried to make an appointment at the genius bar, (but was kicked out out of the decision tree because this issue wasn’t covered at the genius bar) and thought I would try this group. Thanks for any help.
What happens when you long press the chat, and press hide alerts? Do notifications just continue to come?
I see the same error, and yes even with “hide alerts” the audio alerts continue for non-apple senders (SMS messages) but are quiet from other Apple device responders
