Please can someone advise whether Trusteer and Rapportd are still necessary apps. They seem to generate more errors and exceptions and if unnecessary i would like to know how to remove. Ventura 13.7.4

Trusteer Rapport is a security app that is usually recommended or mandated by services like banks and other institutions. I used to have it because Nationwide bank in the UK used it but they no longer do and I removed it. I believe you only need it if you're required to do so by a company you deal with. If you do decide to delete it the you should use the app's uninstaller, don't just delete it using Finder. If there's no uninstaller on your Mac then search for one online.
Rapportd is not related to Trusteer Rapport. Rapportd is a Mac background process that handles comms between some apple devices. You don't want to delete it.
If you're looking at Console and that's where you're seeing "more errors and exceptions" then you can ignore them. If you removed every app that kicked up a error or exception in Console then your Mac would be back to bare metal.

They were never necessary apps. They were always one of the most problematic, and least effective anti-virus apps of all time.
As others mentioned, there is a "rapportd" system daemon that is unrelated to the "rapport" antivirus app. You can't delete rapportd, but you should delete "rapport".

Although my colleague has included specific, accurate details on the usages of " Rapportd " which is a System Process and part of the Operating System itself
This may seem to cloud the issue as you mention specifically " apps " which are Not Part of MacOS Ventura and would have been installed by the User ( you )
Trusteer was never necessary, and it was notorious for causing problems on Macs. Banks and similar institutions had been receiving kickback revenue for recommending (or requiring) it. For all I know that may still be the case.
+1 A while ago my bank "recommended" Trusteer accompanied by a scary-sounding legalese statement which implied that if there were any problems with my account and I wasn't running Trusteer then everything would be my fault.

Thanks everyone - I managed to remove the Trusteer icon from system settings and will see if any further exception panes open up.

Not first hand knowledge but it confirmed my suspicion.
