Properties not being imported with the music

I have 6 WAV files in a folder which I’ve imported into Apple Music for Windows. I took some time to fully complete the properties so that they would import as one album. They are all by different artists, but the album name and album artist name are the same for all of them.

I was sort of expecting them to not cooperate in terms of grouping together, but what I didn’t expect is the properties to not load entirely. The only property that successfully imported was the file name. Other than that, unknown artist, unknown album, no comment, no disc numbers, no track numbers. I’ve had imports randomly merge together in the past, but I did not edit the properties of my older imports.

Windows, Windows 11 (26100)

Tracks in .wav format do not contain a tag. iTunes, and presumably Apple Music, read the file name as a track name property, and that's all you get. If you want to move lossless audio tracks between libraries convert them, losslessly, in the original library to Apple Lossless, or AIFF. Tag support is better with Apple Lossless (ALAC) and it makes smaller files.

If the files remain in a sensible iTunes like layout then I have a script for iTunes called TagFromFilename that can read the album, artist, track & disc no., and name from the path. Unfortunately Apple Music for Windows doesn't provide matching script support. Filling in the missing information on six tracks isn't that mammoth a task.
