When an iPhone is connected to an external Bluetooth device (such as a car’s Bluetooth system or certain wireless headphones), the audio input may be routed to that device instead of the iPhone’s built-in microphone. If the connected device does not properly capture sound, video recordings can have no audio or very low audio.
Similarly, if your iPhone is connected to CarPlay, audio input might be affected, depending on how CarPlay handles the microphone and whether the external system allows for simultaneous recording. Some cars may override the iPhone’s mic completely, causing recorded videos to have no sound.

To ensure proper audio recording while capturing video:
- Disconnect from Bluetooth before recording or manually switch the audio input to the iPhone’s microphone.
- Disable CarPlay (if connected) while recording.
- Use wired headphones with a mic if you need an external microphone input.
