My apple tv remote doesn't turn on the TV anymore

It used to but it doesn't anymore. I can still use the remote to navigate through the menu, but to turn the TV on and off and adjust the volume, I have to use my TV remote and I have no idea why.

Yes, in System Settings, 'Turn On Your TV with Your Remote' is On and 'Volume Control' is set to Auto.

Model is A2737 (64 GB).

Volume Buttons, switch on/off TV not working on Apple Remote after tvos 16.6. update yesterday 24.07.2023 Yesterday I updated my Apple TV 4K Model A1842 to tvos 16.6 (20M73) and after that I restarted the Apple TV box and the Apple Remote. But since then I cannot switch on the TV (Sony) or switch it off via the remote as before. Also the volume up and down buttons are not working on the remote. When I got to the settings in the Apple TV under Remote and Devices and then to the section Home Cinema Control and select the setting "Turn on Your TV with Your Remote" (which is off) there comes a messaging saying "You can't use System Control with this configuration". As I said it all worked fine before the tvos 16.6. update. Looking forward to any help or hints you might have Thanks and Cheers

Since the latest update: Apple Remote to turn on TV no longer works Since the latest update: CEC via the Apple TV HDMI to turn on TV no longer works. The remote will turn off the TV and control the volume but it no longer turns on the TV. The TV settings are the same. The only thing that changed was the new OS via Apple TV’s automatic update. I must keep the additional TV remote handy in case it falls asleep or I’m on the other side of the room. Frustrating to lose a feature I had up until last week.
