Passwords app 'Compromised Password' message

Just had a data leak warning on every password, dozens, and what Id like to know is, what is the likelyhood that every site and service all got breached and simultaniously? I came on here and found somebody else had the same issue and it was on the same day a couple years ago. Is it that this is the time of year that Apple checks this? WTH? Unless it was my phone that was compromised, how is this possible?

That's not what happened. What likely happened is you tend to use the same email/id/password combo for multiple sites.

A site where you use those credentials was compromised. That means every account for which you used those credentials is at risk because whoever get that information will try to use it on every website and service they can possible conceive of. Social media, banks, stores, you name it.

It does not mean that all of the sites where you used it were compromised.

They are different passwords, at least two dozen unique passwords for drastically different places including some for work that are so complex i have to have them written down in a book… so this is why im concerned that the phone was compromised.

It's almost impossible to hack an iPhone, so that shouldn't be a concern. Unless of course your phone is Jailbroken, OR you are someone extremely important on the world stage, like an Ambassador, Senator, Congress person, etc.

Thats why my first question was whether the notifications only go out once a year ir if its possible that its a bug where it thinks everything is compromised. I thought it was odd because it listed every site, all my email addresses, even my tax account. As for importance… World stage sort of but Its 2025 so pretty much nothing and nobody is special anymore. All I know is that I downloaded an app used to validate log ins for a new job and suddenly every password for every site ive ever saved on the phone is compromised so im curious if this is happening to other people.

Ok but that would mean Canada Revenu, Amazon, Ebay, Paypal, two private servers for work, a German email provider, a Toy Store in Saskatchewan, three banks, Netflix, Indeed, as well as Chatr and every local utility company and the city site to check water usage all had their sites compromised on Friday… not to mention the rest of the list i cant remember…all Friday. Not to be hard on myself here but doesnt it make more sense that if this isnt a bug that maybe i downloded the wrong app and messed up and got compromised? Because those a very different sites, passwords and types of authentication and the one thing that was not on the list i nerver allowed the phone to save the password.
