Music replacing song titles and album positions

MacBook Pro M1. Just updated to Sequoia 15.3.1. Apple Music is displaying albums in a strange fashion - namely albums which I have existing audio files for (ie not streamed from subscription). Within the same artist in my library, the first tracks of songs are being relocated to different albums, and some don't show at all. When I play the album by just pressing play on the album artwork, it plays as normally.

Have tried:

  • editing song info
  • deleting album and re-importing from original files
  • deleting Music library and reloading Music, and
  • rebooting entire system.

None have worked. I have also checked Apple Music streaming to see if there has been a change to licensing or included songs on the artist page. They are all present and correct, so the issue is just within my library.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.3

Are you by any chance in the Artist view sorted as Album by Year, with the affected artists being marked as favourites? See Music app on Mac - Sorting Artists' Album… - Apple Community where I've been able to replicate this bug that someone else was reporting. My guess is you are seeing the same thing. A workaround for now is not to use favourites, or use a different sort order.
