Podcasts App on CarPlay Not Resuming Playback After Restart

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing an issue with the Podcasts app on Apple CarPlay when using my iPhone 12 mini running iOS 18.3.1.

Here’s the problem:

1. I listen to a podcast while driving.

2. When I turn off the car and restart it, the podcast I was listening to doesn’t show up on the CarPlay display.

3. I have to go to the Podcasts app on my iPhone and resume playback manually.

4. Sometimes, the podcast is even marked as “previously played,” despite not being finished.

I’d like to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue or if there are any known fixes. I’ve tried restarting my iPhone and ensuring my apps are up-to-date, but the problem persists.
