How can I stop malware alerts on my MacBook Air?

Hello All,

I have a Macbook M1 Air. Recently for past couple of months I get a pop up on my Mac Desktop screen with the following message:

Malware Blocked

"p" was not opened because it contains malware. This action did not harm your Mac.

Please suggest for a solution to this else I will have to plan for a factory reset.

NOTE: All the applications and browsers used are genuine.

Thank you,

Heyat

I had started receiving another Malware pop up. I started analysing the same and i got the details of it under General>Login Items & Extensions.

I also evaluated the steps shared by you and found that all the .plist files were genuine and didn't needed the clean-up.

Once I removed the one from the extensions segment, I didn't see the pop up after couple of restarts.

Thanks a lot for sharing the link to help identify the issue.
