TV app puts one TV show in wrong listing

I apologize for the confusing terminology, I'll try to be as precise as possible here. I have a bunch of TV shows that are my own files that I keep locally on my Mac and sync with my iPhone. I've noticed recently that episodes of a few shows, after being synced to the iPhone, will appear in the wrong TV show in the TV app. What I mean by this is if I open the TV app, go to TV Shows, and click on the show in question, on the next screen it will show the title of the show correctly but it will display artwork from another different show, and it will say "0 episodes".

An example: I have 6 episodes of "The Thick Of It". When I follow the steps above (opening TV, clicking on TV Shows, then clicking on "The Thick Of It"), it shows the artwork for "I'm Alan Partridge" (of which I also have episodes syncd to my iPhone) and says "0 episodes". If I go to the page for "I'm Alan Partridge", everything is fine there. Interestingly if I turn off all my network connections and open the TV app, it shows the "Downloaded" list, and if I click on "The Thick Of It" there, it shows the correct episodes and I can watch them.

I've had this happen a few times recently. The first time I just deleted the episodes from my phone and then resynced and they then appeared fine. However the example above has persisted across multiple deletions and re-syncings. I've checked the metadata for both shows and both are correct (and distinct).

Any ideas? ☺️

Nothing can be done on your part; you'll just have to wait for the change to occur.

"Thanks for the suggestion. I agree that this most likely a software issue that requires Apple to do something. One minor note, this is not on an Apple TV, this is using the TV app on the iPhone. Apple has certainly done us no favors by renaming iTunes 'Music' and naming the app for video "TV"."
