Inconsistent charging issue with iPhone's charging port

occasionally my iPhone won’t start charging when I plug the charging cable in. I’ve tried multiple cables and it’s all the same. It doesn’t always happen when I try to charge my iPhone and at first it was every so often but over the last few weeks it happens daily or multiple times a day. Turning it off and on will sometimes fix the issue but not always. Since, when it happens is so random and fixing the issue is inconsistent, it’s hard to tell what the problem. I’m assuming it’s the charging port.

Your charging port probably has some dust or lint built up in it. Try turning off the phone and (gently!) brushing the inside with a toothpick or something similar.


If that doesn't work, the port is probably broken. Apple can replace it, follow the directions here to make an appointment:
