Music Doubling Playcounts/Not Reflecting New Changes When Syncing iPhone
Ever since the OS update before the latest, I've been having an issue when syncing. Whenever I sync my phone to my Mac for a second time, instead of reflecting the amount of plays that actually occurred, it doubles the playcount. So say on Monday I listen to each song on my playlist once. On Tuesday, I sync my phone to reflect the new playcount, modify my playlist, then sync again so the new changes transfer over. Instead of changing the playlist to reflect this, it seems to revert back to the last sync, saying I listened to those songs again, not always changing the effects that were changed. Previous times, this has only occurred if the sync was cut off for some reason, such as if my phone disconnected from my computer, or I closed the lid, and the second attempt at syncing causes the playcount to double. But now, it's happening every time I sync.
Oddly, it seems like after it doubles the playcount once, the sync seems to stick, and doesn't double it again on the third time. It seems like it can't comprehend the latest sync, and must do so again to keep the changes. I have tried so many things to try to fix it. Updates, wifi sync, wired sync, playing around with settings, nothing works. I found a handful of others with the same issue, however they did not find a resolution. One said it resolved itself after several years. Admittedly, this is incredibly annoying to sync two to three times at a time to ensure settings have been transferred, not to mention the incorrect playcounts, and I'm sure we'd all love to know why this is doing this. If you have any ideas, please let me know! Thank you!
