I burned a playlist from Apple Music (OS 15.3) onto a blank CD in an external Apple drive. The CD plays the songs on my computer but dedicated CD players do not play the songs. The CD is clearly turning in these players but there is no sound.

I did as you suggested. I also while waiting tried the previous attempts on a third CD player and had some success playing a couple of tracks. I believe the fault probably is with the old players. Thank you very much for your help.
I did burn the disk at 4X. Meanwhile I tried the previous attempts in a couple of other disks and was able to play some tracks from them. I believe the problem is likely with the older players (4 of them) rather than with the burning process. Thank you very much for your help.
CD-R or CD-RW? Did you burn the playlist as an audio CD, or as an MP3 CD or Data Disc? Have you tried burning at slower speeds rather than the maximum possible?

The blank disk was CD-R and I burned the playlist as audio CD. I am not sure what would be slower than the maximum possible speed. The drop down menu goes from 1X to 24X. Thank you.
E.g. 4x rather than 24x.
