On Mac Studio all USB drives need to be force ejected

Whenever I use a USB drive on my Mac Studio (2023 - M2 Max - running Sequoia) I have to force eject to remove it. This is not a problem with the USB as it operates normally on my Macbook (and other Macs, too). Also this happens with any USB drive (not just a single one). Any suggestions?

Ejecting USB drives constantly... I am using an M2 MacBook Air, and I have had non-stop issues with drives being randomly ejecting. This has happened on: LaCie 10TB drive Sandisk Extreme 2TB SSD Samsung 4TB SSD Sandisk Extreme Pro 4TB WD 5TB Gamer drive ...and memory cards, too. I see a few other topics about this, but it's been months and it's still happening. I have the cables that came with the drives (directly attached to the computer), separate Thunderbolt cables, and several others. I've seen this behavior with all of them. I think it even crashed my WD drive once as I've already had to reformat it to get it going again. Any movement on Apple to figure out what we can do?

trying to eject a USB drive. None of the tutorials apply because nothing shows up on the desktop acknowledging the USP port being used Can't eject a thumb drive from the side port. tutorials refer to an identifying icon on the desktop. I find nothing to right click/eject.

Does this happen every time you try to eject a USB drive or sometimes. Also, what version of Sequoia are you running?

I had the same problem with my Mac Studio M2 Max running Sequoia but not all the time just sometimes/occasionally. However, since updating to Sequoia 15.3 back on 01/27/25, I haven't had this issue yet (knock on wood). YMMV

Thanks for your reply. It happens all the time. I'm running Sequoia 15.1.1, but I guess I should try updating to 15.3. I'll let you know how that goes. Cheers.
