Messages app won't stay in "Known" senders folder

I turned on the iMessage filter for my iPhone 14 Pro some time ago. I really appreciate having my Known messages split from my Unknown Senders (especially with all of the spam these days).

But every since I updated to iOS18, my Messages app opens with All Messages after receiving a text from an unknown number. Before the upgrade, the Messages app would open to the last filter I used (All, Known, or Unknown), even if I had unread messages.

It doesn't look like this can be addressed in settings. Is this (still) a bug for anyone else?

Mine doing the same. Probable since an OS update a few weeks ago OS 18.3.1. I have selected "Known Senders" a dozen times but some how it keeps letting unknown senders in. It was never doing this before.

Not fixed here. I keep hoping the public beta updates would fix this, but not yet. It seems each time I get a msg from an unknown sender, the Messages app switches to the all Messages screen until I manually put it back in Known messages. If I’m not aware the app has reverted to all msgs, notifications turn up on my Carplay screen. APPLE: PLEASE FIX THIS!
