"iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable" message when trying to search for music

I've tried for a few days now and I keep getting this error message: "There was a temporary problem completing your request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable". I'm signed into my account and I can apparently access anything on the startup page, but I cannot access anything I've searched for. Just trying to purchase some music!
