Podcast and Mobile data not syncing

I want to listen to podcasts when out walking but when I try to do this I can’t access the podcast but instead I get the message ‘Mobile data is turned off. Turn on mobile data or use WiFi to access data”. However, mobile data IS switched on, so is data roaming and I have a strong phone signal, often 5g. Any ideas what’s going on and how to sort?

Downloaded podcast will not play unless connected to cellular network. Why. How much data am I using I subscribe to a number of podcasts. To save data charges; Settings > Podcasts > Block Downloads Over Cellular is switched ON and Cellular Data is switched OFF. Under Settings > Cellular > Podcasts is switched OFF - so podcast downloads only happen at home over WiFi. When I’m listening to the downloaded podcasts away from WiFi and Cellular Data OFF some podcasts allow Pause, Skip Forward and Skip Back, while with other podcasts when I try to Pause, Skip, etc. I get a dialog popping up saying “Cellular Data must be ON to listen to podcasts” and the podcast won’t start playing again - unless I turn on cellular data for a moment, tap play on the podcast to get it started, then switch cellular data off again.

wireless CarPlay problem on my 2023 Genesis GV70 after updating my iPhone to iOS 18 I have a 2023 Genesis GV70 EV. I used wired carplay without problems since leasing the car in May 2023. I updated the audio software via OTA to be able to use wireless carplay. I used wireless carplay for two days without any problems. Then I updated my iPhone SE (second generation) to iOS 18 on Tuesday. Now when i have my iPhone in the car with me, carplay starts (wirelessly) playing the last album I was playing before the ios18 update. I can scroll back and forth and play all the songs on the album. But that's all I can do! If I press or select the music icon at the top right of the carplay screen, I get the message, "your phone is not connected to a network." If I try to bypass carplay and access Amazon music directly on my iphone to play something new via my phone, I get the same message, "your phone is not connected to a network." But, I can access any of my other web apps on my iphone w/o a problem. And, if I turn the car off, I can access Amazon music on my phone directly w/o carplay. Is anyone else reporting a similar problem? When will I ever learn not to be an early adopter?

listening to podcasts w/o wifi? Why won't my iPhone play saved/downloaded podcasts w/o WiFi being on? I have turned off cellular/streaming, but if in my car, the downloaded podcasts won't play (no wifi available when driving). TIA.

Hi thanks for response. Unfortunately I don’t understand what you mean by “mobile data may not be enabled for podcast”. How would I do this? Both mobile data and data roaming are shown as on in Settings.

Appreciate your advice.

Mobile data may be switched ON but Mobile Data may not be enabled for the Podcast app. Please check.
