Ghost iMessage notifications on iPhone with iOS18.2.2

Using the latest OS 18.2.2, Each morning I turn on my phone, I get banner notification of imessages received overnight, I see often messages from complete strangers, and foreign names with US and Offshore telephone numbers. Going to the imessage area to see the full details of the sender, there is nothing there. Checking the dropdown banner, its gone too.

I note there was an issue similar in OS 16 and 17 in forums but not quite like mine

I went to my nearest Apple Store and the techs did a diagnostic, turns out that my phone’s motherboard had failed and something to do with “kernels” was causing old notifications inside my phone to appear. Since my apple care had expired , the repair cost was close to a new phone,so I got a 16 pro. Thanks for responding, may I suggest that anyone in similar situation, run the diagnostic at the store, it saves a non tech like me.
