Opening app request message sent turns grey and freezes on iPhone

My son has to send app request from his iPad to me on my iPhone in order to get approved and it has always been simple but now I can not even open his requests I select his message and now it just turns grey and freezes. Can anyone help me please.

My message app is freezing When I go to text message or go to look at a message the message app freezes and I can’t send or respond to any text. It sometimes closes out on me. I have to open and close the app until I can use it.

Ask to Buy - Cannot Connect to App Store One of my children has Ask to Buy set up on their account. During May, I started receiving these requests via iMessage. Earlier in the month, I was able to approve requests with no issue. However, in the last few weeks, each time I click on a request, my phone will switch to the App Store and display the message "Cannot connect to app store." I do not have any issues connecting to the app store otherwise. I've reviewed all the articles and solutions to no avail. Checked iOS version on both devices. Restarted them and so on. Are there any other solutions for this issue?
