Can't remove files from iBooks without deleting from iCloud everywhere

I accidentally added pdf files to my iBooks app, and now I can't remove these files from ibooks without deleting from icloud everywhere. I just want to remove these additional files from the app only while keeping them saved to my cloud. How do I go about doing this? The only option that I get when I try to remove the file is delete --> delete everywhere.
