Can anyone help??
I've just moved to macOS Sequoia 15.3
Now my second display (thunderbolt) which worked perfectly, about 2 hours ago is now dead and cant be detected. I've looked on line and it turns out it's a common problem. I wish I had just left the upgradfe.
IS there a fix?

This has nothing to do with the displays, monitors,... in my opinion. I have been using the same setup with my old MacBook Pro and new MacBook Pro for about 5 years. Two external monitors - one display port / one HDMI. I have NEVER had an issue with the external displays coming online until upgrading to 15.3. It is always the HDMI display that does not come back after the system sleeps.
I have found that power cycling either the monitor (easier of course) or the laptop will bring all three back online and they will all remain fully functional until the next time it sleeps.

Ya mon...worked! Connecting a different USB-C hub and both monitors were detected as normal.

Thank you. It was easy to just trash this file and restart and problem solved.
apple.windowserver.displays.<hex_string>.plist .
That worked. I found this file and deleted it and restarted my computer: The file path is /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.displays.plist.

Today After spending 40 minutes on the phone with apple, they just say that it's not supported by machine, 2 monitors just with the lid closed. It's the end for me.

I have a Mac-Studio 2023 and with 15.5 I can confirm that the above fix worked for me, all three monitors, including the HDMI worked. Remove the more general file from /Library....
Didn't work for me though. The file keeps getting recreated after the restart!
