I have multiple issues on my iPhone 13 after the iOS 18 update

After working flawlessly for a year, my iPhone 13 got iOS 18 and the update messed it up completely.

It’s significantly slower than before: I’m a Voiceover user, and now it’s so frustrating to use because it has too many glitches, like speech cutting out, random and slight popping sounds, and the cursor randomly jumps to top without me doing anything.

Battery: the battery capacity went down from 99% to 97% in just a week since iOS 18 was installed. It used to last more than a day with moderate use, but now I need to charge it at night because I’m afraid my alarm won’t ring. It also gets warm with minimum use.

Siri: Siri doesn’t speak most of the time, all I get are visual and written responses, but no audio. Selecting the preferred spoken responses option in the Siri settings doesn’t solve the problem. With iOS 17, Siri always gave me spoken responses, but not anymore. Aside from that, answers me with an error if I haven’t ask her anything from a long time.

Other issues: Safari takes ages to load any page, Apple Music stops playing in the middle of songs, the notes app sometimes crashes out of the blue and Spoken conten feature is very glitchy, now changes languages and pronounces everything wrong, even if all the text is in Spanish, my native language.

I’ve tried every type of reset you can imagine, from a simple restart, network resets, resetting all settings, to factory resets, restoring via iTunes and set everything up as new, but all to no avail; I mean, the problems just persist no matter how many troubleshooting steps I’ve taken, oh and no help at all from Tech support.

Seriously! What’s going on? I’m very frustrated, wondering why things can’t just work fine.

Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Besides all these issues, I have here some more:

Notifications arrive 5 or 10 minutes late.

Yesterday I was in a video call using Zoom, and my iPhone 13 got quite hot while holding it.

Wifi is significantly slower than before.

I never can find it using my iPad Pro 11in 4th gen or my other iPhone 11, it never rings or rings when I already found it.

Why is this happening to us and how can we fix it? A DFU reset didn’t make any difference, at least for me, I’m still having issues after doing that, and it isn’t any user error, it’s iOS 18’s fault.

Please help 😭

Ever since I got the IOS 18 on my iPhone 13 I can’t get apps back on my screen when I couldn’t respond to a game site. It won’t put the app back on my screen no matter what I do. I wish I could go back to the IOS 13 that came with the phone

The iPhone 13 was released with iOS 15 installed if you bought it when it was first released. If you bought it after September 2022, it would have had iOS 16 or later.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Manullascard ~ As your iPhone 13 could be 3½ years old, that high battery capacity suggests that the battery may have been replaced. If so, was it replaced at an Apple Store or by other qualified technician using a genuine iPhone battery?...
