Add HomePod to Home app

I have three HomePods purchased in 2020 & 2021

I am trying to set up two as stereo speakers and a third on its own in a different room

I have managed to connect to the two HomePods as stereo speakers which is good

I have got the third HomePod working (e.g. Spotify via my iPhone) but can't seem to add it to the Home app - and therefore cannot access any settings. Confusingly, it also seems to be using the same name as the other two HomePods

I have tried the following without success:

placed the iPhone near the HomePod to try and connect
reset the HomePod settings
unplugged the HomePod and started from scratch

What do I need to do to be able to add the third HomePod to the Home app

I have checked the Home app and cannot see anything untoward

I have also realised that the third HomePod doesn't appear to be registered to 'My Devices' in iCloud - might this be the cause of the issue and, if so, how do I add a device to 'My Devices'?

It transpires that I hadn't fully reset the missing Home Pod, i.e. remove plug for ten seconds, press circular screen until white turns red and beeps three times.

Once I did that, I was able to add them to iCloud My Devices and the Home app (although still confusing that I can't separately see the two stereo paired speakers)
