Bookmarking issue in Books on iPad

Hello,

I can no longer make bookmarks in several books when i use an Ipad, It started a couple months ago. I tried deleting and reinstalling the books, no results. I then ask Apple for a refund and buy it on Amazon but i prefer reading on iBooks.

If anyone has an idea how to fix this that would be very helpful!

Adding bookmarks to the Apple Book. About a couple of months ago, stopped adding bookmarks in Apple Book with a double tap. I tried restarting, updating iOS, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but nothing helps. The bookmarks themselves work, displayed correctly, they are still added to the book menu by the button, but the double tap disappeared. Thought that by accident in the settings turned off, but there is no such item.

iBook bookmarks i’ve had problems with the bookmarks as well. The problems are 1. Bookmark a page it saves it to the last bookmark. I.e. if at pg. 285, I would bookmark it and it will show the last bookmark being at 274. I can’t get it bookmark the current page even if I erase all past bookmarks. 2.why don’t you have a function to delete all bookmarks at once, I like to read my books over a couple of times. 3. how come you can’t double tap the bookmarks to delete them anymore. this app operates worse than when I first started using it! 4.a current problem I’ve had is if I double-tap the bookmark it will lock up the app! I then have to delete it and reinstall it all! My iPhone then consumes power to the point of it getting warm almost hot? What do I do about this?

Why did Apple gut and destroy the Apple Books app? I am sure I am not alone in my total disgust with the 16.2 update to the Apple Books app. Now, on both my phone and iPad, the bookmark is continually being activated as I am scrolling to the next page, the current page and pages left in the chapter isn’t visible without having to click on this awkward box menu in the bottom corner of the page, the resume option is missing, on my phone the text for current page is so large it is unreadable. Am I missing something? I don’t think so. This seems to be a current and repeated theme of the Books App reviews. Until these issues are addressed and fixed I will not be buying another book from the Apple Book store. Kindle here I come.
