Unable to add or edit text to text box with Pages for iPad

I use Pages for iPad. I created a text block with text. If i return to the text box and try to edit it - when i try to insert a word of add to the text, when i tap at the desired insertion point a dropdown menu appears listing Cut, Copy, Delete etc. instead of a cursor and I am unable to add or edit text. This does not happen with Pages for Mac.

My iPad (Mini A17 Pro) is running OS 18.2.1

Problem with selecting multiple paragraphs of text in apple books app to add notes or highlight text (iPadOS 18.3) When reading many ePub books in the Apple Book app, the ability to select multiple paragraphs at once to take notes or highlight them has disappeared. I noticed that after the update, you can now select one paragraph, but if you drag the selection further, it disappears (if you drag up, a zoom may appear, if down, nothing). At the same time, if you return the selection to the first paragraph without releasing your finger, the selection within this paragraph remains. This problem is observed both on the iPad mini 7 and the iPad Pro 11 M1. Both devices have been updated to iPadOS 18.3. I tried to open the same book on the iPad Pro 11 2018, which still has iPadOS 17.6, and there is no such problem. Everything work fine. Also, there is no such problem on the iPhone 14 Pro and MacBook Pro 14 M1 Pro. I can highlight several paragraphs at once and there are no such problems. Please note that the problem does not affect all books, but a fairly large number of those that I tested. There was no such problem before. no options menu when I select text on ipad I do not see an options menu after double-tapping to select text. According to the given instructions, I should select the word or words, them tap once to gt the copy/cut/look up .. menu, but all that happens is it un-highlights my selection.
