Why does clearing iMovie Library not free up enough space?

I’ve tried clearing out the IMovie library, but that only shaved off a few gigabytes. Where is all the rest???

iMovie not enough disc space To fix the iMovie "not enough disc space" issue I did as someone suggested on this forum and put iMovie in trash without emptying the trash so I could upload a new iMovie from the App store. Unfortunately when I put iMovie into trash it automatically deleted it. So I would not suggest anyone doing that. Apple should remedy this iMovie issue already. Such a waste of time trying to do anything with iMovie these days.

IMovie disk space I have a vast video I am trying to export from iMovie, it says I have no disk space even though all I have on my computer are the files for the video. every solution says to delete the movie library to free up space but I need my library to export the video. so what should I do to export my video if I cant clear up more space?

My 13 minute iMovie project is 123GBs. How? It just video game clips, which on their own total about 4.4 GBs. There's like 500MBs of music and voiceovers. I deleted every other project and all other media. The only iMovie library that exists is on a 128GB thumb drive with nothing else on it. The project is like 25 times bigger than all the media used to create it. Are there redundant files somewhere that I can delete? Thanks in advance.

How many gigabytes did you start with and how many were deleted?

What steps did you take to clear out your iMovie library?
