Searching for rest areas on Apple Maps while navigating

I have looked for answers to this question and can’t find an answer. While using navigation on Apple Maps using CarPlay it cannot find rest areas. If you use the pull-up menu at the bottom to add a stop, there is no category for Rest Areas. Rest Areas should be added as a quick search category. Even asking Siri to search for a Rest Area or Rest Stop along your route is useless. She has no idea what you are asking for. If I have my wife look on the atlas and get an actual Rest Area like Rest Area #22 on I-75 South of Atlanta, Siri will find it. But this is ridiculous. You should be able to ask Siri to search for rest areas along your route or use the menu “Add a Stop” and have Rest Areas as a search category. If I am missing something please let me know. Or, please add this to a great app and make it better.

As Apple users, like yourself, in the community, we can do little more than read through your post, or perhaps supply a useful link or two : Eg: https://www.interstaterestareas.com/map-of-rest-areas/ ( a map of all rest areas.)

Sometimes it can be relaxing to look away from screens, and have a brochure of rest areas, with detailed info. on what's available at each spot, as well as where they are, in the car glove-box. It is then easy to compare which spots to choose to best suit the car-occupants needs on the road-trip. The authority responsible for upkeep of rest spots will generally have such info. readily available, as well as online.
