Issue with Taking Notes on HomePod Without iPhone Being Turned On

Hello,

I purchased a HomePod for Christmas after researching whether it could function independently without an iPhone. My goal was to take written or voice notes via the Notes app without having my iPhone turned on at night, as I switch it off to reduce exposure to electronic waves.

Online sources indicated that HomePod, with its own operating system and iCloud connection, should allow this. However, after setting it up yesterday, I found it doesn’t work as expected:

• When asking to write a note, it says it can’t find my iPhone.

• When requesting a voice memo, it states the Dictaphone app isn’t found on my Apple TV.

This leaves me unable to use the HomePod for its intended purpose. Given its Siri integration and iCloud link, I expected it to record notes directly in iCloud for later access on all devices.

Is there a specific setup required to enable this functionality?

Thanks in advance for your help.

HomePod, 18
