Why can’t I save my contacts on WhatsApp?

When I fixed my phone all my contacts were gone, after I re downloaded WhatsApp and the contacts there came back but not with names just the regular number. Now I try to save it with a name but it keeps saying “ can’t save contact please try again later”.

WhatsApp won’t show contacts names Hi! Yesterday January 11th 2023 I went to open WhatsApp and almost all of my chats had no name. There is a problem accessing my contacts. I have done all the suggestions on the web: going to settings, then privacy & security trying to allow WhatsApp to access my contact but I can’t select nothing since it seems the screen is inactive. I have a 13 pro IPhone. What can I do to get my contacts name to show on my chats? I work in real estate and in consulting with a company in Germany and this app is very helpful. Thanks in advance for your help.

WhatsApp stores contact details in your phone's contacts database, and it generally syncs them with your iPhone’s native contacts (either iCloud or another account you've linked, such as Gmail). There isn't a direct way to store WhatsApp-specific contacts separately without syncing them to the Contacts app on your iPhone.
