Iphone 14 will no longer sync to itunes but ipod will.

my Iphone 14 used to sync to my itunes on a PC but quit a couple months ago. I still import cds into itunes and in november it stopped syncing to iphone but i can sync to my ipod. When i sync to the Ipod it goes through 6 steps but only 4 steps for the iphone but sometimes will give duplicate songs. Checked all settings and everything seems to be set right. Any other ideas?
