Insufficient storage on iPhone 12 for apps and media

I do not even have a lot of apps, and it says that my storage is taken mostly by the apps and I have a lot of videos and pictures according to my storage calculation, but I don’t even have a lot and I just wish to have more storage because I’m not paying for more and I really do want to get more apps . my phone always tells me almost every day that I have no storage.

If you do not want to subscribe to iCloud+ and optimize, or simply remove files from your device, go out and buy an iPhone that has more in-phone storage. You cannot upgrade the storage on a device itself in any other way.

There is no way to add memory to an iPhone. So that leaves you with either deleting things you don't need or use from your phone or buying a new iPhone with more memory.

I am curious to know how much space System is using on your iPhone. Sometimes, over a long time, some data can become corrupted and bloat the System category of Storage. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and tap that. Wait for the categories to populate and see what's using the most space. If it's photos or apps, you'll need to delete things. If it's System, see this link to learn how to backup your iPhone, then restore it from backup, which will get rid of the bloat in System memory --> Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup – Apple Support (AU)
