Hissing noise during Facebook Messenger group calls on iPhone 16 Pro Max

Hello,

I’m experiencing a hissing noise from the speaker when making group calls on Facebook Messenger using my iPhone 16 Pro Max. This only happens during Messenger group calls and not in private calls or other apps like WhatsApp. I’ve tried updating the app, restarting the phone, reinstalling Messenger, and checking audio settings, but the issue persists.

Could this be a hardware issue, or is it related to app compatibility? I’d appreciate your advice.

It's not a hardware issue. If it was, other group calls would be affected.

Start with Facebook Messenger Support. What do they say?

A problem with your iPhone is unlikely or it would be present in other functions such as making normal phone calls or FaceTime calls, and it would almost certainly be consistent throughout your Messenger calls, just just occasionally.
