iPhone 16 plus touch is not working

Purchased iphone16 plus on 27th December 2024. Facing issues with touch screen. Mostly back button for the apps, while typing keys are not working, it is not smooth, Every time I need to touch twice or thrice. Issue is happening for 8 out of 10 times. It’s really pathetic and frustrating. Already updated with 18.2.1 still the touch issue exists. Tried all so called solutions like restart, removing screen protector etc. but nothing worked. Please don’t tell the workaround give the proper solution.

First please see if you have a Touch Accommodation setting that is adjusting your iPhone response to your touches.

Adjust how iPhone responds to your touch – Apple Support

Then try a force reset procedure as shown below to see if this is a software issue.

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Lastly if the above doesn't help rectify your issue, this is likely a hardware issue with your iPhone in which you need to visit your nearest Apple Store's Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for service.

Thanks and appreciated your help and quick response Zachyy.

I did reset as well as went to authorised iPhone service center. However the technical guy verified my iPhone and concluded that there is nothing wrong with touch. It is perfectly fine. I showed him steps to reproduce the touch issue. He was also able to reproduce. Finally conclusion as per my thought along with his was the touch issue/lagging because the refresh rate of iPhone. There is nothing we can do for 16 and 16 plus. However we can change/adjust refresh rate in pro/pro max models.

Could you please check and let me know if anything can be done to resolve the issue.

Thanks again in advance Zachyy

You are most welcome. You may want to view the first article I provided above to make your iPhone more responsive to your touch.
