Renaming the actual Apple Account name on iphone

I want to change the name on my Device Info for a iPhone 15 / iOS18/1/1

I'm clear on how to rename the name under Settings/General/About/Name. But, when you go to settings and scroll down to the bottom, the phone is also named there, and it doesn't change when you do the setting/general/about/name.

I'm talking about at the bottom where it says a phone name and then under that it says "This iPhone15"

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

That's interesting. When I go to settings, and click on my name at the top, there's a menu with:

*Personal Information

*Sign-in & security

*Payment & Shipping

*Subscription................etc

Then all the way at the bottom of that menu (after a list of Icloud, Family, Find My, Media & Purchases, sign in with Apple)

There is another menu option that has the phone with the old name that didn't change.

Just under that there is the Contact Key Verification option and then the Sign Out option

I appreciate that but....

That's the one I understand how to change. What I'm looking for is when you go to settings, and click on the name of the phone at the top, then scroll to the bottom - it's also named there - and that name doesn't change the way you described. I don't know to change the name there.

I am using an older iOS version and only see the name in one place, at Settings > General > About > Name

I tap on Name and it only shows the name with a delete (x) option next to it. Basically exactly as the support article says for iOS 18 even though I am using 15.8.3

I went though all my menus on the way to the name change one and nowhere do I see the name shown anywhere else.
