I'm getting thousands and thousands of duplicates on contacts. (30,000 and counting, but only have 250 genuine approx).Same on my imac, iphone and ipad. Have done all obvious things including merge duplicates and deleting and reloading contacts. I have 2 accounts on contacts, outlook and iCloud. iCloud list is the problem. Outlook list OK.

Hopefully what you are seeing is some type of local corruption and not real. Try this:
The Mac address book is corrupted , for normal working Mac few duplicate contacts might be created but not in thousands , erase the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS .
Massive number of duplicates on contacts.
