iPhone 11 stuck in power-up loop when plugged in

My Iphone 11 has been in storage (just not used so the battery drained itself overtime) for about 2 or 3 months. I recently decided to pass the phone along to a friend so today I tried charging it so I can format the device.

However, I encountered a major issue. Only when plugged in, the phone will begin to power up (displaying the apple icon), then immediately powerdown. It takes 10 seconds before life is shown, and once the logo pops up it is only displayed for about 1 to 1.5 seconds.

When the device is unplugged it is entirely unresponsive. (Yes, I've let it charge for about an hour and still not responsive)

I saw another user have a similar issue however the resolution steps provided only worked for phones that managed to power on fully.

I have no idea what to do or why this is happening. The phone is in almost mint condition.

Help?

Your iPhone is stuck in a boot loop. This typically happens when you unsuccessfully download some things or an install stalls while in the process.  So, refer to my User Tip: How to Fix an iPhone in a Boot Loop - Apple Support

When a few tries at a Forced Restart do not help, the problem is almost always a hardware issue on the phone.....likely the battery or possibly the main board.

That means an appointment at the Apple Store or a trip to an authorized Apple service shop to let them check out the phone and go over your options with you.

You can find a list of authorized shops in your area using this link: Find Locations

Good luck.

Hi TheLittles, I really appreciate your response. Unfortunately it appears that my issue is a little more complex then that.

I did follow your steps word for word. The first option to force reset did not resolve my issue.

The second option to force it into recovery mode did however work. However, when I updated the phone the issue persisted with being stuck in a boot loop. So I then just decided to factory reset the phone or "restore" it. When I clicked that option I go prompted with an error code (2010).

My Mini Mac (which I was using for this operation) is fully updated, the music center is also fully updated, and I was additionally using the original cord from the mini mac.

I cannot get this phone out of a boot loop. Thoughts?

Thanks
