Can’t play podcasts with WiFi

Podcasts won’t start playing or downloading until I switch off wifi and use cellular data.

I can then put wifi back in once they’ve started and it continues fine.

Downloaded podcast will not play unless connected to cellular network. Why. How much data am I using I subscribe to a number of podcasts. To save data charges; Settings > Podcasts > Block Downloads Over Cellular is switched ON and Cellular Data is switched OFF. Under Settings > Cellular > Podcasts is switched OFF - so podcast downloads only happen at home over WiFi. When I’m listening to the downloaded podcasts away from WiFi and Cellular Data OFF some podcasts allow Pause, Skip Forward and Skip Back, while with other podcasts when I try to Pause, Skip, etc. I get a dialog popping up saying “Cellular Data must be ON to listen to podcasts” and the podcast won’t start playing again - unless I turn on cellular data for a moment, tap play on the podcast to get it started, then switch cellular data off again.

Podcasts are "temporarily unavailable" on multiple apps For a few days now, I believe following the 16.5.1 update, I've been I unable to download or stream most new podcasts, with an error message saying they're "temporarily unavailable". This is consistent across Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and Amazon Music. The only exception I've found is the NPR News podcasts, with Up First and NPR News Now both working normally (but not, for example, This American Life, or various other non-NPR podcasts). This happens both on my home wifi and on mobile data, and only seems to affect my iPhone 14 (my iPad and MacBook are fine). I've rebooted the phone and reset the network settings, but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated!
