Wireless charging issues for iPhone pro models

I see all pro nd pro max models having an issue with wireless charging in cars due to camera design.

Is there anyway or alternative solution to solve wireless charging in car other than using cable?

I'm sorry, but it is not all Pro models. I have wireless charging in my car and I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it will charge just fine. My wife's iPhone 16, non-Pro will also charge. Both of our phones will also charge in her vehicle, which has wireless charging. Some of the charging pads in cars were found to be designed wrong for some of the larger phones, so the charging area was not matching up with the location of the charging area in the phone. This was especially true with some of the first cars to introduce wireless charging. A search here can produce a number of posts regarding that with vehicles like BMW, Volvo, and Lexus. Check with your dealer and see what they have to say.

Just to add on…I have experienced no issues charging my 16 Pro Max in a Buick Enclave, GMC. Traverse, 2025 Acura MDX that I have been driving for the last 2 weeks….nor has any other pro model (15 or 16) using any of these vehicles. In some of the cases where people re experiencing issues it is likely due to the design I the charging area in the car and its inability to do it. You can’t expect every phone designed to create their designs to go with every car because unfortunately the wireless charging areas for vehicles are not universal. Until that happens or phones are only made in a universal design (that customers would have an absolute meltdown over) there will always be cars that may run into issues with being able to charge devices made that may not fit their design specs (size, placement of things like camera lenses and internal charging components, etc). But to claim that all Pro and Pro Max models are having issues is absolutely false.

As far as solutions…you can speak with the manufacturer to see if they have a fix if it has absolutely been determined the issue is due to the camera bump causing an alignment or connection issue (if even possible. Depending on the vehicle and the space allowed for wireless charging there may be nothing that can be done for those current versions but may be something they address in future models of the vehicle like some have with relocating where wireless charging occurs giving them more flexibility). You may have to look into 3rd party wireless charging options. Or you will have to do what you don’t want to and go with using the cable.
