Search on Mac doesn't list item I search for

When searching on my Mac in Finder (command+F in Finder window) and using the exact folder title that is in my documents, the list that comes up does not show that folder! I am so fed up with the search function on my iMac (Retina 4K 21.5-inch 2019 running Sequoia 15.2). I have had this issue for a long time and has nothing to do with current OS. I check to make sure I am searching "This Mac" and my user account... I want to take it out back and crush it.

Cannot Search Folders in Finder Since I upgraded from my old macbook pro to a new silicon mac, I have not been able to search the contents of a folder in Finder. An example of what I mean . . . If I am in my documents folder in finder and then type a search entry into the search box, i get no results (note: Search: "Documents" is highlighted). If i then select Search: "This Mac", then I get a ton of results (which includes documents in the "documents" folder). Any thoughts on a solution? Thanks!

Why does a Finder earch bring up everything Okay I'm in the Finder and I want to search for everything with the word (apple). I'm looking for a specific Folder. What I see is a list of almost everything on my iMac. I tried the old boolean search if I remember was to use "-" on both ends but that doesn't seem to work. How can I be more specific in my search term? See the photo Thanks Allen

Finder works for "This Mac" but not for folders I'm running macOS Ventura 13.5 on an M1 MacBook Pro. I have reindexed Spotlight using the Terminal and via System Settings (adding and removing my user folder). In Finder, when I am in the Desktop folder, if I search for something with "This Mac" selected, it finds all matches, INCLUDING the one in the Desktop folder. However, if I select "Desktop" for the search, no results are displayed. This happens for the many folders I have tried. Any ideas of what is causing this and/or how to fix it? Thanks! Mike
