Desktop Music App does not retain new files, play counts, last played info, smart playlist changes, etc. - 2

In reference to the last thread (Desktop Music App does not retain new files, play counts, last played info, smart playlist changes, etc.)

The music library file path is as below:

External HDD/Organizational Folder/ Recreated Music Library est. (2 other folders in this directory + imported Library.xml file)/Music ("Music Library" file stored here)/Media (automatically add to music in here also)/Music (where all the artist folders and files are)

So after safe mode reboot and creating a new library file and path, there is marginal improvement but he same issue remains. We sometimes manage to retain files after an app reboot, and we sometimes manage to retain smart playlist changes, but so far, never both.

Any ideas?

Open Music with Option held down and explicitly choose the library that you want it to open. In some cases it seems Music can open a cached version of the library that it doesn't necessarily update correctly.

Close Music, then reopen with Option+Cmd held down. This opens the app in its safe mode and may perform some internal housekeeping. (This is not a direction to launch the Mac in its safe mode.)

Right-click on your Music Library.musiclibrary package while Music is closed and select the Show Package Contents option. Show hidden files with Shift+Cmd+. If you see any .tmp files inside delete them.
