Calendar search not working on iPhone 16 Plus with iOS 18.1.1

If I look at the date where the event/ item was recorded, it’s there. The search response says No Results. I’ve tried as many of the suggestions above as I could and got the same results. A soft re-boot does nothing. There is no Calendar option under Settings, therefore no Accounts option under Calendar and no iCloud account under Accounts. I was a loyal iPhone user successfully for years. However, today I am bitterly disappointed in Apple’s failure to provide a solution.
